Due to continued growth and increased demand, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their engineering team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and forward-thinking organisation offering long-term career prospects, structured hours, and regular overtime opportunities.The RoleAs a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, and maintenance of specialist automated machinery. This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and working with complex mechanical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and assemble mechanical components and machinery to engineering specificationsInstall and align mechanical systems including conveyors, rotary components, and associated equipmentRead and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)Carry out machine fitting, testing, and commissioning activitiesDiagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective maintenanceSupport machine upgrades, refurbishments, and changeoversWork collaboratively with electrical and controls teams during build and commissioningEnsure all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standardsAbout YouWe are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Fitter who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working in a team-based engineering environment.Essential Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, or similar engineering roleStrong mechanical assembly and fault-finding skillsAbility to read and interpret technical engineering drawingsExperience working with bearings, shafts, gearboxes, and mechanical alignmentCompetent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipmentGood understanding of safe working practicesDesirable (Not Essential)Experience working with automated or special purpose machineryKnowledge of conveyors, rotary systems, or pneumatic equipmentBasic understanding of pneumatic or hydraulic systemsWillingness to support occasional site-based work if requiredWhat's on OfferSalary of £32,500 per annumMonday–Thursday 8:30am–5:30pm, early Friday finish at 1:00pm25 days holiday plus bank holidaysCompany pension (3% employer / 5% employee contribution)Overtime availableTraining and development opportunitiesLong-term career prospects within a growing engineering businessSupportive and professional working environmentHow to ApplyTo apply for this role or to find out more information, please contact:Dan WaltonEmail:Phone: 01254 781300SER-INTPBN1_UKTJ
