Job Description

Location: Warrington (Hybrid/Office-based)Reporting to: Design Manager / Technical DirectorRole Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Designer to lead the design and development of aluminium façade, window, door, and curtain walling systems for commercial projects.This role will play a key part in translating architectural intent into compliant, manufacturable, and cost-effective design solutions, while supporting project teams from concept through to installation.Design & Technical Delivery Produce detailed design drawings, fabrication packs, and installation details for façade and glazing systemsInterpret architectural drawings, specifications, and client requirementsEnsure all designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and performance criteria (e.g. thermal, structural, fire, acoustic)Develop and check calculations, system interfaces, and buildability of solutionsManage design changes and revisions throughout project lifecycleProject Coordination Liaise with architects, main contractors, façade consultants, and internal teamsAttend design team meetings and provide technical inputCollaborate with estimating, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless project deliverySupport project managers in resolving technical issues on live projectsTeam Leadership & Support Mentor and support junior designers and techniciansReview and approve design work before submissionPromote best practices in design quality, efficiency, and complianceInnovation & Improvement Contribute to system development and continuous improvementIdentify opportunities for value engineering without compromising quality or performanceSupport the adoption of new technologies, software, and processesKey Skills & Experience Proven experience in façade, curtain walling, aluminium windows and doors designStrong technical knowledge of aluminium systems and building envelope constructionProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD essential; Revit/3D modelling desirable)Understanding of UK building regulations and industry standardsExperience producing fabrication drawings and working with system suppliersStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesQualifications Degree or HND in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or similar (preferred)Relevant industry certifications are advantageousPersonal Attributes Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracyProactive and solutions-focused mindsetAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple projectsStrong team player with leadership capabilityOur clients and their customers come from diverse backgrounds and so do we.
