Associate Director - Landscape Planning

Morson Edge are working with a leading global multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit an Associate Director – Landscape Planning to join their expanding UK Landscape Architecture team.This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Chartered Landscape Architect to take on a senior leadership role, leading major landscape planning projects across a diverse portfolio including energy, infrastructure, regeneration, residential and defence developments.Working within one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary environmental and design teams, you will lead projects ranging from Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) through to regional and local developments, collaborating with planners, engineers, environmental specialists and design professionals to deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions.The Opportunity This role offers the chance to combine technical leadership, project management, client development and team mentoring within a highly respected consultancy delivering nationally significant projects.You will play a key role in leading landscape planning commissions, developing client relationships, supporting business growth and mentoring the next generation of landscape professionals, while helping shape the strategic direction of the landscape planning team.Key Responsibilities Lead landscape planning projects across a range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, defence and regenerationPrepare and oversee Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA), Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments (TVIA) and supporting evidence documentsLead site surveys, landscape analysis and technical assessmentsBuild and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout project deliveryLead meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activitiesManage project programmes, budgets and commercial performanceCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated planning and environmental solutionsMentor and develop junior team members, supporting technical excellence across the teamContribute to business development activities, bids and winning new workPromote innovation and best practice across landscape planning projectsEssential Skills & Experience Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)Landscape Institute accredited degree in Landscape ArchitectureExtensive experience in landscape planning within a consultancy environmentStrong technical expertise preparing LVIAs, TVIAs and Environmental Impact Assessment documentationThorough understanding of the UK planning system and landscape planning legislationProven experience managing complex projects, budgets and multidisciplinary teamsExcellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong report writing and technical presentation abilitiesFull UK driving licenceDesirable Experience Experience delivering Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)Experience supporting Development Consent Order (DCO) examinations or Public InquiriesBackground within energy transition projects including renewables, transmission, storage or nuclearExperience within defence, infrastructure or major regeneration projectsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, Civil 3D, Revit or ProjectWiseWhat's on Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageFlexible and hybrid working arrangementsOpportunity to lead nationally significant and internationally recognised projectsClear pathway for career progression within a global multidisciplinary consultancyStructured professional development and leadership opportunitiesCollaborative and supportive working environmentAccess to industry-leading technology and major infrastructure programmesIf you are an experienced Chartered Landscape Architect looking to take the next step into an Associate Director position, we'd be keen to hear from you.Please apply with your CV or contact Jonah Peto at Morson Edge for a confidential discussion.E:T: 0117 452 1070M: 07966 532 470TPBN1_UKTJ
