Materials PlannerOldham, Greater Manchester£37,000 per annum plus benefitsMonday-Friday 8AM-4PMThe RoleA leading food manufacturing business is looking to strengthen its Supply Chain team with the appointment of a Materials Planner. This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials availability for weekly production, protecting output and minimising waste across a fast-paced operation.You will take ownership of material planning for assigned categories, ensuring stock is available in line with the production plan while working closely with suppliers, Warehouse, Planning and the wider Supply Chain team. The role requires someone who is organised, analytical and confident managing multiple work streams in a dynamic environment.This is an excellent opportunity for a materials or supply chain professional who wants to develop further within a growing food manufacturing business and take on broader responsibility over time.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn short term material planning for assigned categoriesEnsure materials availability to maximise weekly production output Manage and report on short term wasteOversee ordering of chilled ingredients, Sheard packaging and ad hoc short term requirementsInvestigate material shortages and conduct root cause analysisWork closely with Warehouse to manage capacity and stock flowManage blast freezing and tempering processes to minimise wasteProvide holiday cover for the Supply Chain CoordinatorSupport the Long Term Raw Materials Planner when requiredManage change amend requirementsCreate and maintain accurate input into the MRP systemWork collaboratively with Planners and the wider Supply Chain team to find solutions and develop opportunitiesBuild strong supplier relationships and liaise regularly to ensure material availabilityCarry out reasonable requests from line management as requiredThe PersonProven experience in materials management or a Supply Chain roleQualifications in Supply Chain or related fields desirableCommercial awareness gained from previous roles desirableExperience using systems such as Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Excel and other supply chain platformsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple work streamsTeam player who can also work autonomously Professional, confidential and reliable Approachable, flexible and methodical with strong attention to detailDetermined, enthusiastic and positiveAnalytical and numerateFood manufacturing knowledge desirableGenuine interest in food and the manufacturing processContactFor more information, please contact Ryan Taylor at Winsearch on 0161 746 3311Winsearch acts as an employment agency for permanent staff.
