Kingston Barnes are acting on behalf of our client and is seeking an experienced, commercially-minded Transport Manager to lead our clients South West logistics operation based at their Portbury Depot on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.In this role, you will take full ownership of the depot's operational efficiency, driver management, and financial performance. You will lead the South West driving and clerical teams, drive fleet optimization KPIs, and serve as the key point of contact for regional automotive clientsall while ensuring absolute legal, H&S, and Operator Licence compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Allocation: Maximize fleet productivity, minimize empty running, and lead the 4x4 allocation team to deliver efficient daily routing within legal parameters.People Leadership: Manage all South West BCA Car Transporter Drivers and clerical staff, maintaining positive communication and managing performance within a unionized environment.Compliance & H&S: Ensure full depot compliance with drivers hours, tachograph regulations, vehicle maintenance, and site Health & Safety (including risk assessments and RIDDOR).Financial Management: Take ownership of the depots P&L, assist with local budget setting, and ensure accurate pricing and weekly/monthly reporting.Client Relations: Manage local customer relationships, meet strict service level agreements (SLAs), and coordinate with compound agents to minimize truck delays.What We Are Looking ForQualifications: A transport International CPC is essential.Logistics Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience at a Senior Supervisor or Traffic Manager level within transport and distribution.Hands-on Expertise: Proven experience working in a busy traffic office with direct involvement in vehicle allocation.Union Experience: Proven track record of managing staff and conducting investigations/disciplinary hearings within a heavily unionized environment.Commercial Acumen: Ability to interpret and influence a P&L account, manage budgets, and drive key operational KPIs.IT & Communication: Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.Apply NowTo take the next step in your logistics management career with an industry leader, submit your CV today.
