If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established manufacturing business in Huddersfield looking for a practical, hands-on Site Maintenance Engineer to join their experienced maintenance team.This is not a role focused on the latest automated systems and PLC programming. Instead, you'll be working on a range of older, robust industrial machinery that has been exceptionally well maintained over the years. The site takes great pride in its equipment, preventative maintenance culture, and high engineering standards.If you enjoy traditional engineering, solving mechanical problems, and taking ownership of machinery reliability, you'll feel right at home here.The RoleReporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across the site.Your responsibilities will include:Planned preventative maintenance on plant and equipmentDiagnosing and repairing mechanical faultsSupporting breakdown response and minimising downtimeWelding and fabrication repairs where requiredConducting inspections and defect reportingMaintaining pumps, motors, valves, conveyors and ancillary equipmentWorking closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliabilitySupporting site improvement projects and general engineering activitiesMaintaining high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and plant areasWhat You'll NeedWe're looking for a genuine maintenance engineer who enjoys being on the tools and takes pride in quality workmanship.Essential:Apprentice-trained or time-served engineerStrong mechanical maintenance backgroundExperience within manufacturing, production, heavy industry, or process environmentsSkills in fitting, turning, milling, and weldingARC/MMA welding experienceStrong fault-finding abilityGood knowledge of pumps and associated mechanical equipmentA proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solvingAdditional Experience WelcomedExperience with any of the following would be beneficial:Overhead gantry cranesCompressorsRefrigeration plantLow-pressure air blowersGas-fired combustion equipmentForklift trucksPumps, valves and process systemsElectro-chemical plantElectrical maintenance knowledge18th Edition qualificationExperienced electricians with strong maintenance backgrounds will also be considered.Why This Role??
