Housing Support WorkerJoin a supported housing service delivering person-centred support, tenancy sustainment, safeguarding and independent living support for people with a range of needs.If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you: Support Worker, Housing Support Officer, Supported Housing Officer, Tenancy Sustainment Officer, Tenancy Support Worker, Community Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Independent Living Officer, Floating Support Worker, Support OfficerSALARY: £25,526 to £26,869 per annum + BenefitsLOCATION: Reading, Berkshire ( RG14) (100% Site Based)JOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to FridayJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Support Worker with experience of providing person-centred support to diverse client groups and helping people maintain independence.As a Housing Support Worker you will assess referrals, agree and review Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments, deliver agreed support and help clients understand their tenancy responsibilities.The Housing Support Worker will work closely with partner agencies, health professionals, Adult Social Care, Criminal Justice services and internal teams to coordinate wraparound support and promote positive outcomes.DUTIESYour duties as the Housing Support Worker include:Referral Assessment: Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centred approachClient Support: Ensure prospective and current clients understand the support available, financial obligations, rights, responsibilities and tenancy proceduresSupport Planning: Agree and review Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basisPerson-Centred Delivery: Deliver contracted support hours through regular client contact, follow-up action and coordinated wraparound supportPartnership Working: Build and maintain effective relationships with health professionals, partner agencies, community contacts and key stakeholdersSafeguarding: Report concerns relating to vulnerable people using the correct safeguarding procedures and attend meetings as requiredRecord Keeping: Complete and submit relevant documentation, records and statutory return data accurately and on timeComplaints Handling: Handle complaints and representations in line with policy and undertake any necessary investigationsLone Working: Work outside standard office hours when required, following lone working proceduresCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALEducated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English, Grades A* to CWorking knowledge and understanding of how to support people in achieving and maintaining independenceExperience of providing support to diverse client groups, including people with mental health needs and/or substance misuseStrong organisational skills, including time management, workload management and the ability to meet targetsGood IT skills, including the ability to use management information systemsAbility to network and build strong relationships with partner agencies, community contacts and key stakeholdersAbility to communicate effectively at different levelsAble to deal confidently and professionally with distressed, aggressive or challenging behaviourDriving licence and access to own transportDESIRABLEHousing or support related qualificationKnowledge of housing or welfare benefits systemsAwareness of safeguarding principlesBENEFITS25 days holiday plus Bank HolidaysUp to 8% contributory pensionGenerous annual allowance of up to £300 to use towards health and lifestyle benefits for both you and your familyThis role requires an Enhanced DBS CheckThe organisation recognises that some people will only apply for a role if they meet 100% of role requirements.If this sounds like you, theyd still encourage you to apply should you not feel you meet the criteria 100%.NO AGENCIES PLEASEAPPLY TODAYBy submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.JOB REF: AWDO-P14905Full-Time, Permanent Social Care / Housing Jobs, Careers and Vacancies.
