Job Title: CNC MillerLocation: Newport, UKSalary: £30,000 - £38,000 per year (depending on experience)Shift: Day ShiftBenefits:Permanent PositionFree Onsite ParkingCareer development opportunitiesThe Company:A precision engineering business is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Newport and is seeking a skilled Machinist to join as part of the initial team.This is an opportunity to contribute to the setup and development of a high-quality machining operation, working with precision components and supporting the implementation of robust manufacturing processes.The CNC Miller Setter/Operator Role:This role is primarily focused on CNC milling, with additional responsibilities across lapping, grinding, and precision finishing. The successful candidate will be expected to adopt a flexible approach, supporting multiple areas of the machining process as required. Full training will be provided to develop capability across these disciplines.This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your skill set while contributing to the setup and development of a high-quality machining operation.Key ResponsibilitiesMachining & FinishingOperate CNC milling machines in line with engineering drawings and specificationsPerform precision lapping and grinding operations to achieve required surface finishes and tolerancesSet up and operate surface grinders and finishing equipmentSelect appropriate tooling, abrasives, fixtures, and machining parametersDeburr, clean, and prepare components for further processingMeasurement & Quality ControlInterpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specificationsUse precision measurement tools (micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, CMM, surface testers)Carry out in-process and final inspectionsRecord and document measurements in line with quality standardsProcess & Continuous ImprovementSupport the setup and optimisation of machining processesMaintain machines, tooling, and work areas to a high standardIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and process stabilityCollaborate with engineering and production teamsFollow all health & safety proceduresAbout You:Proven experience in CNC milling, lapping, or grindingStrong understanding of machining principles, feeds and speedsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&TSkilled in precision measurement and inspection techniquesHigh attention to detail and quality standardsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentHow to Apply:To apply for the CNC Miller Setter/Operator position, click Apply Now and upload your CV.
