Apply Now for our Recruitment Team to review.DUTIESYour duties as the CSWIP Welding Inspector include:Maintain Quality and Welding Standards: Support or lead the implementation of welding and fabrication quality standards across the departmentInspect Fabrications and Assemblies: Visually and dimensionally inspect tack-ups, weld set-ups and final fabrications for releaseReview and Raise NDT Reports: Create, evaluate and interpret inspection and non-destructive testing reports, identifying any non-conformancesMaintain Welding Documentation: Complete weld maps, WPS documentation, welding technique records, history sheets and consumable control recordsSupport Traceability and Compliance: Ensure product traceability, quality documentation and technical specification packs are accurate and audit-readyCSWIP 3.1 Level Duties: Carry out welding inspection, dimensional checks, documentation control and quality reporting under approved standards and proceduresCSWIP 3.2 Senior Level Duties: Lead final inspection, sign-off completed work, review complex specifications and support improvements to welding procedures and controlsSupport Training and Competence: Assist with training, testing and assessment of welders, including equipment set-up, procedures and approved working rangesConduct Audits and Checks: Carry out internal audits of welders, welding procedures and fabrication activities, recommending improvements where requiredPromote Safe Working Practices: Encourage safe systems of work, open communication and a target of zero lost time accidentsSupport Site Installations: Attend installation projects to assist with inspection duties when requiredCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALCSWIP 3.1 qualification as a minimum, with applications also welcomed from CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding InspectorsPrevious experience working within welding inspection, fabrication, quality assurance or manufacturing environmentsExperience inspecting weld preparations, tack-ups, final fabrications and completed assembliesAbility to read and interpret technical fabrication drawings, specifications, standards and quality documentationKnowledge of welding procedures, weld defects, welder approvals, consumable control and fabrication inspection processesUnderstanding of ASME, BS Standards and relevant quality, welding and inspection requirementsExperience using MS Word, Excel and other computer systems to complete inspection reports and quality recordsMethodical, accurate and safety-focused approach, with strong teamwork and communication skillsDESIRABLECSWIP 3.2 qualification or equivalent Senior Welding Inspector experienceRWC approval or willingness to achieve Responsible Weld Coordinator status via TWI interviewExperience working in a lead, supervisory or senior inspector role within a welding or fabrication environmentAdvanced knowledge of steel metallurgy, welding procedures, NDT methods and inspection sign-off requirementsExperience preparing documentation, systems and inspection records for internal or external quality auditsTraining on welding equipment set-up, operation, troubleshooting and safe working practicesBENEFITS23 days annual holiday allowance plus Bank Holidays and Christmas EveBirthday leaveWellbeing dayContributory pension schemeLife assuranceOccupational health screeningHOW TO APPLYTo be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
