Greenkeeper

We are recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a qualified Greenkeeper to support the maintenance of six high-quality bowling greens. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to play a key role in delivering exceptional playing surfaces for the local community.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the greens to a consistently high standard, ensuring optimal playing conditions throughout the season. A driving licence is essential for this role.Your Time at WorkMaintain and prepare all six bowling greens to a high standardCarry out mowing, verticutting, aeration, top dressing, fertilisation, and seeding programmesEnsure greens are presented and prepared for play, including rink marking and general upkeepMonitor turf health and implement treatments for pests, weeds, and diseasesOperate and maintain specialist turf care machinery and equipmentAssist with irrigation and drainage maintenanceCarry out routine maintenance of surrounding areas, including pathways and landscaped spacesEnsure compliance with health and safety standards at all timesOur Perfect WorkerRecognised qualification in Greenkeeping, Sports Turf, or HorticulturePrevious experience maintaining fine turf, ideally bowling greens or similar surfacesFull UK driving licence (essential)Strong understanding of fine turf management techniquesExperience using a range of grounds maintenance machineryAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHappy to work in all weather conditions throughout the yearMust be happy to go through Disclosure checks in line with requirements from Public SectorDesirable Skills & ExperiencePA1/PA6 spraying certificatesExperience working within a public sector or local authority environmentKnowledge of bowling green maintenance standards and seasonal requirementsAdditional machinery or turf care certificationsKey Information and BenefitsEarn £14.68 per hourMonday to Friday shifts, 8am - 4pm, allowing for great work-life balanceOutdoor workingStable public sector employmentOpportunity to manage and maintain multiple well-used community bowling greensTraining and development opportunitiesSupportive team environmentAbout Brightwork-Brightwork Ltd offers the services of an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.
