Electrical EngineerPermanent | Full-Time£44,000 per annum + OvertimeOur client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team in Northamptonshire . This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business offering a varied role, competitive salary and long-term career prospects.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding and repairing a wide range of production and plant equipment, whilst supporting continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site.Key Responsibilities·Fault finding and maintenance on:oProduction machinery and associated control systemsoPLC and computer-controlled systemsoPlant services and their control systems·Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on:oProcess systemsoSafety systemsoElectrical distribution systems·Testing electrical installations using a range of test and measurement equipment·Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics·Assisting with the design, installation and commissioning of electrical control systems·Managing small engineering projects from concept through to completionCandidate RequirementsApplicants must:·Hold a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification·Have experience servicing and repairing a diverse range of industrial equipment·Possess excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities·Be competent in reading electrical drawings and symbols·Be experienced in the use of electrical testing equipment·Have experience working with:oPLCsoVariable Speed Drives (VSDs)oSoft startersoWeighing equipmentoSensorsoProcess control systems·Have experience carrying out planned and preventative maintenance activitiesDesirable ExperienceThe following would be advantageous:·Experience with Mitsubishi and/or Siemens PLC systems and software·Multi-skilled engineering experience with mechanical and pneumatic knowledge·Electrical inspection and testing qualifications·Previous experience within the food manufacturing sectorWorking Hours·Monday to Friday·07:30 - 17:30·One-hour lunch break·Daily hours include:o7.5 hours paid at basic rateo1.5 hours paid at time and a halfOn-Call and Overtime RequirementsFollowing a satisfactory probationary period of up to six months, engineers participate in an on-call rota system, usually 1 x week in 6 with the option to work nights during their call-out week.Applicants must be willing to:·Participate in the on-call rota·Work weekend overtime when required·Support out-of-hours breakdown coverBenefits·Company pension·Cycle to Work scheme·Life insurance·Free on-site parkingThis is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrical Engineer seeking a stable, long-term position within a successful manufacturing environment.TPBN1_UKTJ
