HVAC Engineer Location: GatesheadSalary: £43,000 per annumWorking Hours: Monday – Friday, 06:00 – 14:30Contract Type: PermanentSector: Facilities ManagementJob Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a facilities management team working within a large distribution centre in Gateshead.This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HVAC professional to join a stable, site-based role with a leading facilities management provider. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of HVAC systems and associated building services, ensuring the site remains operational, safe, and compliant.Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on HVAC systemsDiagnose faults and complete repairs across heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipmentService, inspect, and maintain HVAC plant and associated mechanical systemsMaintain and repair AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, pumps, valves, and associated equipmentRespond to breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding to minimise disruption to site operationsComplete maintenance records, job sheets, and reports accuratelyWork closely with the wider engineering team and site management to ensure service levels are maintainedEnsure all works are completed safely and in line with health & safety procedures and site requirementsRequirements Previous experience working as an HVAC Engineer within a commercial, industrial, or FM environmentStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and mechanical plantExperience delivering both planned and reactive maintenanceAbility to fault find, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficientlyGood understanding of building services and maintenance environmentsStrong communication skills with the ability to work independently on siteQualifications NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or Building ServicesF-Gas qualification essentialRelevant HVAC/refrigeration qualifications desirablePackage & Benefits Salary of £43,000 per annumMonday – Friday, 06:00 – 14:30 working hoursPermanent, site-based positionWorking within a large distribution centre environmentLong-term career opportunity with a leading facilities management providerTraining and development opportunities availableTPBN1_UKTJ
