Estimator South East London | Permanent | Competitive Salary + PackageAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join a long-established and highly respected main contractor based in South East London.This role is ideal for a mid-level Estimator looking to take the next step in their career within a stable and growing business, offering exposure to a broad range of technically challenging projects and genuine long-term progression.About the Company Our client is a well-established main contractor with an outstanding reputation across London and the South East, delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment, restoration, and maintenance projects across both public and private sectors.They are recognised for delivering complex projects within live, occupied, and sensitive environments where planning, quality, and attention to detail are essential.Typical Projects Include: Refurbishment & fit-out schemesStructural repair & remediation worksHeritage & restoration projectsPlanned maintenance frameworksResidential & social housing schemesEducation, healthcare & public sector buildingsExternal envelope and faade worksTypical Project Values: Small works from £100k£250kMid-size projects from £500k£5mMajor schemes up to £15m+Projects are secured through both competitive tendering and negotiated routes , providing a varied and commercially interesting workload.Estimator Role Overview: As an Estimator, you will play a key role within the pre-construction team, taking ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.Key responsibilities will include:Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentationProducing detailed take-offs and cost estimatesPreparing accurate tender submissions and pricing packagesObtaining, reviewing, and negotiating subcontractor quotationsIdentifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering optionsAttending site visits, tender meetings, and internal reviewsSupporting handover to commercial and delivery teamsBuilding strong relationships with supply chain partners and clientsEstimator Candidate Requirements: We are keen to speak with candidates who have:37+ years estimating experience within constructionExperience pricing refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, or specialist construction worksStrong commercial awareness and cost planning abilityAbility to manage tenders with limited supervisionExcellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skillsStrong knowledge of construction methods and sequencingGood proficiency with Excel and estimating / take-off softwareExperience within a main contractor environment would be highly advantageous.Why Apply?
