The role also provides leadership and governance for operational training.Accountabilities:Safety and Security Performance, Culture and Risk ManagementSafety and security performance across GGS operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, corporate and customer airline safety standards and process.Lead the continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring a 'Just Culture' through the organisation, with effective communication channels, engagement rhythms, safety forumsDefine core safety and security KPIsEnsure effective identification, assessment and mitigation of operational and business safety and security risksReporting, Investigation and AssuranceLead the development of a frontline-led reporting culture, improving both volume and quality of safety reportingEnsure a consistent, proportionate approach to incident investigation and root cause analysisComplianceOwn the maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS), safety governance structureMaintain clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities defined within the IMSMaintain and deliver the audit, inspection and assurance framework set out in the IMSTraining complianceEnsure mandatory and operational training compliance across GGSOversee effective systems for training tracking, certification and complianceEnsure learning from incidents, audits and operational insight is embedded into training deliveryContinuous improvementRepresent GGS in internal and external safety and security forumsImplement benchmarking and best practice approaches to drive performance and continuous improvementTranslate safety data and operational insight into targeted improvement actionsSkills & Capabilities:Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence across multiple teams and functionsData-driven approach with the ability to translate insight into practical actionsStrong communication skills, with the ability to engage frontline through to senior stakeholdersHigh attention to detail with a structured, process-led approachAbility to operate at both strategic and operational levelsQualifications & Experience:Essential:Demonstrable experience in safety, compliance or operational risk management within a regulated environmentExperience in aviation ground handling safetyKnowledge of aviation regulatory frameworksExperience leading safety or compliance frameworks and driving performance improvementExperience managing or influencing training and competency frameworksProven ability to lead and deliver change in operational environmentsDesirable:Relevant safety, compliance or operational qualificationsKey enablers/Stakeholders:GGS Head of Operations and GGS Leadership TeamOperational Managers and Duty ManagersGGS TrainingBA Global Learning AcademyCAAGGS PlanningBA Safety, Security, Compliance teamsGALLCY Airport AuthorityGGS Customer Airline representativesOther airline safety, security and compliance stakeholdersKey Performance Indicators:Core safety KPIs (e.g incident rates per 1000 sectors, LTI, audit closure)Ensure timely closure of safety and security actions and audit findings acrossCompliance with regulatory requirementsWhat we offer:We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play.
