Job Title: School Premises ManagerLocation: Redbridge and surrounding East London areasStart Date: As soon as possibleSalary: £18 £20 per hour (depending on experience)Contract: Full-time, Temporary/PermanentWorking Hours: 8:00am 16:00pmCompany: Complete Classroom ServicesAbout the RoleComplete Classroom Services is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organised School Premises Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, compliance, and operational management of educational premises across Redbridge and surrounding East London areas.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, well-maintained, and fully compliant with relevant regulations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring excellent facilities management skills, strong knowledge of health and safety, and the ability to coordinate contractors, maintenance programmes, and site improvement projects.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operation of school premises, ensuring buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standardOversee site security, including opening and closing procedures, alarm systems, and access controlEnsure compliance with health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements, and statutory building regulationsDevelop and implement planned preventative maintenance programmesCoordinate and supervise contractors, service providers, and maintenance staffManage maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budgetConduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, identifying and addressing maintenance or safety concernsMonitor and maintain building services, including heating, lighting, plumbing, and security systemsMaintain accurate records of inspections, compliance checks, servicing schedules, and maintenance activitiesSupport school leadership teams with premises planning, capital projects, and facilities improvementsEnsure school grounds remain safe, secure, and presentable at all timesRespond effectively to emergency maintenance issues and site-related incidentsThe Ideal Candidate Will HavePrevious experience in a School Premises Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Estates Manager, or similar role within the education sectorStrong practical maintenance knowledge across building fabric, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairsGood understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements within educational settingsExperience managing contractors, maintenance schedules, and site projectsExcellent organisational and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectivelyCompetent IT skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and digital compliance systemsGood physical fitness and willingness to undertake practical site duties when requiredA professional, proactive, and flexible approach to workDesirable Qualifications and ExperienceIOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualificationExperience working within a school, academy, college, or educational environmentTrade qualifications in a relevant disciplineKnowledge of safeguarding requirements within schoolsExperience managing refurbishment or facilities improvement projectsIn Return, We OfferA welcoming and professional working environmentOpportunities to work within well-regarded schools across Redbridge and East LondonOngoing training and professional developmentCompetitive rates of payTemporary-to-permanent and permanent opportunities availableDedicated support from the Complete Classroom Services teamTPBN1_UKTJ
