Our client is a well-established waste management business providing waste collection, transfer and recycling services to commercial customers across the region.Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Experienced Waste Transfer Operative to join their busy waste processing and transfer station. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous waste management or recycling experience who is looking for long-term, stable employment with opportunities for training and career progression.Key Responsibilities Operate mobile plant, machinery and counterbalance forklift trucks safely and efficiently.Identify, segregate and process a variety of waste and recyclable materials, including hazardous and clinical waste.Load and unload commercial vehicles, containers and skips.Complete and maintain accurate operational records and paperwork.Ensure waste is handled in accordance with company procedures and environmental legislation.Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring the site remains clean, safe and free from spillages or hazards.Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.Candidate Requirements Previous experience within the UK waste management, recycling or waste transfer industry.Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.Good understanding of waste legislation, Duty of Care requirements and health & safety procedures.Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.Reliable, hardworking and able to work both independently and as part of a team.Flexible approach to overtime when required.Working Hours Monday to Friday6:00am 3:00pm15-minute morning break30-minute lunch break15-minute afternoon breakOvertime available as requiredSalary & Benefits £13.90 per hourOvertime opportunities21 days annual leave plus Bank HolidaysWorkplace pensionOngoing training and career development opportunitiesLong-term permanent opportunity with a growing environmental services businessAbout I Need Staff Today Limited I Need Staff Today Limited is an independent recruitment agency based in Codsall.
