Financial Controller

Our client, a successful and growing property business based in Blackburn, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting strategic business objectives.The RoleReporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing valuable commercial insight across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of monthly management accounts and board reporting packsLeading budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activitiesOverseeing the day-to-day finance function, including purchase and sales ledger, payroll, and reconciliationsEnsuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end reportingManaging VAT returns, statutory compliance, and audit requirementsProducing financial analysis and KPIs to support decision-makingDeveloping and improving financial processes and internal controlsSupporting the Finance Director with strategic projects and business growth initiativesManaging, mentoring, and developing members of the finance teamThe Successful CandidateProven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance positionPrevious property sector experience is highly desirableACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experienceStrong technical accounting and financial reporting expertiseExcellent commercial awareness and analytical skillsAdvanced Excel and finance systems knowledgeStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsWhat's on OfferSalary of £60,000£65,000Competitive benefits packageOpportunity to join a growing and well-established property businessClose working relationship with the Finance Director and senior leadership teamGenuine scope to influence business performance and future growThe role is based ON-SITETPBN1_UKTJ
