Senior Commissioning Manager (Hybrid) needed in Gloucester, £29.98ph PAYE - Reference: 5299429Hybrid Working - 3 days in officeAs Interim Senior Commissioning Manager, you will lead the Contracts Team within Adult Social Care, ensuring strong oversight of provider performance, contractual compliance, and risk management during a critical period.This is a hands-on leadership role where you will provide operational stability while also driving improvementsupporting the implementation of a new contract management dashboard, strengthening data quality and system use, and enhancing performance insight across services.You will work closely across commissioning, brokerage, finance, and operational teams to ensure contract activity supports both day-to-day delivery and wider strategic priorities. The role also offers the opportunity to help prepare for upcoming changes linked to Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), ensuring processes and governance are robust and future-ready.Alongside leading a team of Contract Officers, you will play a key role in improving contract management practices, supporting value for money, and ensuring services for Gloucestershire residents are effectively delivered.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day leadership and oversight of Contracts Team activityMaintain a strong focus on provider contractual compliance in line with the Contract Management FrameworkEnsure contract activity is accurately recorded and managed across key systemsSupport the team in managing operational queries, risks, and escalated provider or contract issuesUndertake line management responsibilities, including supervision and 1:1s and team meetingsEnsure governance, assurance, and reporting arrangements are consistently appliedTriage and coordinate complex issues, working across commissioning, brokerage, operational, and finance teamsSupport performance monitoring and reporting, ensuring data quality and system alignmentBuild and maintain effective relationships with providers and key stakeholdersIdentify and implement improvements to contract management processes, systems use, and complianceYou will ideally bring:Strong experience in contract management, commissioning, or provider oversightA sound understanding of Contract Management Frameworks, compliance, and governanceExperience working with contract management and commissioning systemsExperience of leading teams and providing line management supportThe ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively under pressureExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to drive improvementThis is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.If you are interested in the role please apply on our website with your CV, alternatively you can email your CV toquoting the reference number.Essential Employment is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
