Job title: Stores OperativeLocation: WallingfordSalary: £27,000Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:30pmWe are currently seeking a motivated and hands-on Stores Operative to join a busy and supportive team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys a physically active position.The Role of Stores Operative:As part of a small Stores team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement and control of materials across the business. You will be responsible for handling goods, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting both production and dispatch functions.Key Responsibilities of the Stores Operative:Processing incoming deliveries, checking goods against documentation and identifying any discrepancies or damageEnsuring accurate stock control, including recording movements and performing regular cycle countsPicking, packing, and preparing materials in line with production schedulesSupporting internal teams by supplying materials and resolving stock-related queriesSafely loading and unloading deliveries, including the use of mechanical handling equipment where requiredOrganising and storing goods efficiently, including managing overflow stock locationsMaintaining material rotation processes to support product quality and shelf-life requirementsAssisting with dispatch operations when neededFollowing all health and safety procedures and company policies at all timesContributing to general warehouse duties and supporting wider team activities as requiredThe Stores Operative should have the following skills and experience:Experience working within a warehouse, stockroom, or stores environment (manufacturing experience beneficial)Good level of physical fitness, with the ability to carry out manual handling tasksStrong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate recordsComfortable using computer systems (experience with ERP systems such as SAP would be advantageous)Effective communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyA forklift licence would be beneficial, but training can be providedWe are looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and willing to learn.
