Job Description

Senior Building Surveyor -The successful candidate will be confident managing multiple projects and experience within the education sector would be highly desirable. This role will require occasional travel to our sites in Reading and Kent, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.MAC Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor. This is a senior, client-facing role delivering high-quality building consultancy services across a diverse range of projects. You will provide technical leadership, manage client relationships, and support the development of junior team members.Will be based in London office but flexibility to travelResponsibilities Deliver professional building surveying services including condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reportingLead refurbishment, maintenance and remedial works projects from inception to completionAct as Contract Administrator and/or Employers Agent under JCT contractsPrepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentationProvide strategic advice on asset condition, compliance and lifecycle planningManage client relationships and provide clear reporting and adviceMentor and support junior surveyors, graduates and APC candidatesQualificationsDegree in Building Surveying or related disciplineMRICS (or actively working towards with relevant experience)Strong knowledge of UK construction methods and building pathologyProven consultancy experienceExcellent communication and leadership skills What We're Looking ForStrong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projectsAccuracy and due diligence in professional outputsEffective communication across all levels, including leading meetingsTeamwork and collaboration to foster a positive work environmentCommitment to knowledge development and industry best practiceExcellent time management to meet client deadlinesRole Challenges & Aim Youll be expected to work independently with minimal assistance, lead client projects, and either hold or be working towards APC qualification.
