Skilled Fitter – Aerospace StructuresLocation: Filton, BristolContract: 6-month ongoingShifts: Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, 07:00–16:15Security: Baseline Security Clearance requiredMorson Edge are recruiting for Skilled Fitters to support a major Aerospace Wing Assembly programme based in Filton.This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Aerospace Fitters to join a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment, working on metallic aircraft structures to strict quality and safety standards.RatesCore days:£19.40 per hour (Skilled – no stamp)£20.19 per hour (Skilled – with stamp)Weekday overtime:£24.25 per hour (no stamp)£25.24 per hour (with stamp)Weekend overtime:£29.10 per hour (no stamp)£30.29 per hour (with stamp)The RoleYou will operate as a multi-skilled and flexible Aircraft Fitter, carrying out a range of structural assembly tasks on metallic aircraft components within a Wing Assembly environment.All candidates will be required to attend a metallic structures trade test at the Filton site, covering drilling, riveting, countersinking and bolting.Key ResponsibilitiesPercussion rivetingDrill, ream and countersink panels using Vanmar toolingSet aircraft structures in build jigsDeburring and fettling using approved setting toolsLocalised treatment touch-up on aluminium structuresOperation of CNC pillar drills (DONAU)Ensure right-first-time build and adherence to quality standardsClear work phases accurately using SAPHighlight non-conformances to the Process Team LeaderMaintain housekeeping and comply with Health & Safety requirementsSkills & Experience RequiredLevel 3 indentured apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 with 3–5 years Aerospace experiencePrevious experience in an Aircraft Production or Aerospace Manufacturing environmentAbility to work to standard operating proceduresComfortable working in small teams with Process Team LeadersKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesSelf-motivated with good communication skillsThis is a strong opportunity for Skilled Fitters looking for ongoing contract work within a well-established Aerospace manufacturing programme.TPBN1_UKTJ
