Astute's Power Team is working alongside a well-established UK standby power specialist to recruit a UPS Engineer for a field-based role covering an assigned UK region.The UPS Engineer position comes with a salary of £36,000-£50,000, paid overtime, company vehicle, bonus scheme, and strong long-term development opportunities within a financially stable, family-run organisation.If you're a UPS Engineer looking to work for a business that values integrity, long-term employment, and professional standards, then submit your CV to apply today.Responsibilities and duties of the UPS Engineer roleReporting to the Operators Manager you will:Servicing, maintaining, and inspecting UPS systems across a wide power range (5kVA to 1MVA) to ensure reliable operation of critical power infrastructureDiagnosing faults and providing effective on-site repair solutions during both planned and reactive maintenance visitsCarrying out remedial works including battery replacements, component changes, and minor to major system overhaulsActing as a first-response engineer for breakdowns, restoring systems to operational status in a timely and professional mannerSupporting a mix of scheduled maintenance, corrective works, and reactive callouts, including participation in an out-of-hours call-out rotaCompleting clear and accurate service reports, documenting findings, actions taken, and recommendationsWorking closely with internal teams and customers to deliver a high standard of service and minimise system downtimeMaintaining excellent health & safety, housekeeping, and professional standards while representing the business on customer sitesTravelling primarily within an assigned region, with occasional wider UK travel as requiredProfessional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:Proven experience as a UPS Maintenance / Service EngineerStrong fault-finding capability on electrical power systemsExperience working on a range of UPS manufacturers and capacitiesFull UK driving licenceRight to live and work in the UKWillingness to travel and stay away from home occasionallyPersonal skillsThe UPS Engineer role would suit someone who is:Self-motivated and able to work independently in a field-based roleTrustworthy and comfortable operating with minimal supervisionCustomer-focused with strong interpersonal skillsConfident in written and verbal communicationHighly organised with strong attention to detailComfortable in a fast-paced, high-performance environmentPresentable, professional, and committed to high personal standardsA positive team player with resilience, adaptability, and a sense of humourSalary and benefits of the UPS Engineer role£36,000-£50,000 basic salaryPaid overtimeCompany vehicleCompany mobile phoneBonus schemeHealth Cashplan benefit25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)Enhanced maternity and paternity leaveOngoing technical training and developmentLong-term, stable employment within a growing UK business#LI-WG1INDPOWAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
