Senior Stress Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Stress Engineer to work on a long term contract in Chorley/Hybrid.The role is working a 4 day working week - Monday to Thursday (2 days' in the office, 2 days' from home).Rate is c£50-54 Ltd per hour (Outside IR35)The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and checking engineering calculations and analysis reports, supporting the design and substantiation of complex mechanical equipment. You will work closely with design teams, project engineers and customers to ensure technical requirements are achieved.Key Responsibilities for the Senior Stress Engineer:Produce and review stress analysis calculations and technical reportsCarry out finite element analysis (FEA) and classical hand calculationsIdentify calculation requirements including code compliance, operational requirements and failure modesSupport mechanical design teams with technical guidance, design improvements and material/section selectionReview and validate calculations completed by other engineersLiaise with customers and suppliers regarding technical requirementsDevelop improved calculation methods and engineering processesMentor and support other engineers within the teamSkills & Experience Required:Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineMinimum 5 years experience in stress analysisStrong knowledge of FEA and classical stress analysis techniquesExperience with ANSYS and MathcadKnowledge of relevant design standards including: BS 2573BS EN 13001Structural EurocodesAbility to produce detailed technical reportsExperience working on complex mechanical or structural engineering projectsDesirable:Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)Knowledge of BS EN 1090Experience with Autodesk InventorNuclear sector experienceSeismic analysis experiencePrevious experience supervising or mentoring engineersAdditional Requirements:Strong communication skillsAbility to work to deadlines and manage prioritiesFull UK Driving LicenceAbility to obtain UK Security ClearanceHow to apply for the Senior Stress Engineer:Please call Rebecca at Simply Recruitment Group or press APPLY NOW!TPBN1_UKTJ
