Job Title: Surfacing Schemes SupervisorLocation: Loughborough – (Covering HS2 + East Midlands to East England)Job Type: Contract RoleJob Length: 6+ month contractStart Date: August 2026Industry: Surfacing, Asphalt, Tarmac, HS2, AggregatesPay Rates: Pay negotiable based on Umbrella or PAYE day ratesOur client is looking for a Surfacing Schemes Supervisor in the Leicestershire area, covering operational surfacing projects from the East Midlands to East England, as well as working on HS2 schemes. The role will entail working to Project teams to ensure the successful and safe delivery of Surfacing and Asphalt schemes.This will include setting up and overseeing projects, working with Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure the supervision of gangs on site, ensuring timely and safe delivery of works, to agreed programme. Interfacing with Project and Contract Management staff, you will support delivery of commercial surfacing & asphalt projects.The role will entail delivery of a programme of works, instructing supervisors and gangs on what works need undertaking, implementing RAMS, overseeing works and monitoring progress. Depending on level of experience, candidates will have the opportunity to assist with creating programmes, interfacing with the client, and assisting the operations teams with additional tasks.The ideal candidate will be time served in a surfacing, asphalt or highways maintenance industry, ideally holding SMSTS/IOSH and a Fit For Work Safety Critical Medical.The below are also preferred:BBV or EKFB HS2 InductionChapter 8 compliant vehicleDaily duties will include but are not limited to:Delivery of surfacing and tarmacadam activities on HS2 and Highways projectsEffective delivery of operational plans & objectives, understanding site programmes and drawingsExperience with organising the day to day running of asphalt contracts (Tarmacadam Surfacing)Communicating works and instructing gangs team leaders and operativesInterfacing with client liaison as requiredProviding expertise within surfacing, offering guidance and direction to team membersEnsuring safe and timely delivery of works, to HSQE standardsWorking towards RAMS and, Job Briefing packsMaintaining and update internal systems, to log and track progressCandidates will ideally:Have strong knowledge of Surfacing / Asphalt projects, having previously delivered surfacing works.Have experience Supervising or Managing Surfacing Projects and related contracts.Hold an SMSTS Certificate (OR IOSH OR SSSTS)Hold a Fit For Work Medical (Or be willing to undertake a FFW medical)Hold a BBV or EKFB Induction Card (Or be willing to undertake a Induction)Have a Chapter 8 compliance vehicle (Negotiable)For more information or to apply for the role, please contact Tim Smyth on 0121 200 5520.TPBN1_UKTJ
