The firm has built a strong reputation for providing proactive accounting and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses across Yorkshire.Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated bookkeeping professional who enjoys working closely with clients and utilising modern cloud-based accounting technology.Your new roleAs a Cloud Bookkeeper, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of small business clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial information whilst building strong client relationships.Working alongside experienced accountants and advisors, you will support clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping needs and assist with wider accounts preparation work across the practice.Key responsibilities will include:Managing a portfolio of cloud accounting clientsProcessing financial records using cloud-based accounting softwarePreparing and submitting VAT returnsLiaising directly with clients via telephone and emailMaintaining accurate bookkeeping records and reconciliationsAssisting with accounts preparation up to trial balanceSupporting senior accountants with management accounts and ad-hoc assignmentsEnsuring client deadlines are met consistentlyWhat you'll need to succeedPrevious bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice environmentStrong working knowledge of cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooksExperience preparing bookkeeping records for sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesExcellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlinesStrong communication and client relationship skillsHigh levels of accuracy and attention to detailA proactive and positive approach to teamworkWhat you'll get in returnCompetitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experienceSupportive and friendly working environmentExposure to a varied portfolio of clientsOngoing training and development opportunitiesStable and growing practice with long-term career prospectsMonday to Friday, 9am-5pm working hoursFree on-site parking and local amenities nearbyWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
