This opportunity offers the chance to work on the Airbus A400M Atlas within a highly skilled military aviation environment, supporting aircraft availability across one of the UK's most operational fleets.Working alongside experienced engineers and maintenance teams, you'll combine hands-on maintenance, certification responsibilities, and technical leadership while supporting a programme that remains at the heart of UK defence operations.Why Apply?£60 per hour contract rateWork on the Airbus A400M Atlas platformRAF Brize Norton – the UK's strategic air transport hubStructured 5x5x4 shift patternOpportunity for contract extensionHighly experienced military aviation engineering teamPotential supervisory and mentoring responsibilitiesSafety-focused and regulated engineering environmentThe RoleAs a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you will carry out and certify maintenance activities in accordance with approved technical documentation, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.Working under the direction of the Senior Licensed Engineer (SLE) or Lead Engineer (LE), you will support aircraft serviceability and operational readiness while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.You will also provide technical support to engineering teams, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and help ensure maintenance delivery targets are achieved safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and certify A400M aircraft maintenance in accordance with approved Technical Documentation and Company ProceduresCertify own work and, where authorised, the work of others within the scope of approvals heldSupport aircraft availability and operational delivery targetsLead groups of engineers on assigned maintenance tasksCarry out fault diagnosis, repairs, modifications, and maintenance activitiesEnsure maintenance documentation is completed accurately and on timeMaintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory complianceMentor apprentices, trainees, and new starters where requiredSupport offsite activities including AOG and line support when necessaryIdentify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and efficiencyEssential Skills & QualificationsHold an appropriate Category B Licence in accordance with CAA Part-66A400M Type Course completedCompletion of MOD Phase 2 Technical Training (in line with MAA RA4808)Valid EWIS and Human Factors trainingProven experience within a military or regulated aviation maintenance environmentStrong leadership, communication, and teamworking skillsAbility to obtain and exercise company approvalsHold a UK driving licence and be capable of obtaining an airside driving permitEligible to obtain and maintain UK Security ClearanceReady for Your Next Contract?If you're an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer looking for a contract on a major military aircraft programme, this is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering team supporting the RAF's A400M fleet at RAF Brize Norton.Apply now or contact Morson Edge for a confidential discussion.TPBN1_UKTJ
