Assistant Store ManagerThis is a great opportunity for a motivated retail leader to support busy convenience store operations in a unique, fast-paced, event-driven environment at the NEC, where no two trading days are the same.If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you: Retail Assistant Manager, Deputy Store Manager, Assistant Manager, Store Supervisor, Retail Supervisor, Retail Manager, Store Manager, Shift Manager, Duty Manager, Retail Team LeaderSALARY: £28,500 per annum + BenefitsLOCATION: NEC, Birmingham, West MidlandsJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentJOB OVERVIEWThis is a rewarding opportunity for an Assistant Store Manager who enjoys pace, variety and hands-on leadership in a busy retail setting.As the Assistant Store Manager you will support daily store operations, help plan rotas around event schedules, manage stock availability and maintain strong customer service standards.The Assistant Store Manager will also use Excel and internal systems to support sales forecasting, ordering and stock planning during high-demand periods.The role would suit someone organised, adaptable and confident leading a team when footfall and trading patterns change quickly.DUTIESYour duties as the Assistant Store Manager include:Store Operations: Support the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained across service, presentation and trading activityRotas and Staffing: Plan, manage and optimise staff rotas in line with event schedules, trading patterns and peak footfallPricing and Product Accuracy: Manage product pricing, ensuring information is accurate, competitive and kept up to dateOrdering and Stock Availability: Place and manage orders, helping ensure stock is available to meet customer demand during busy periodsSales and Stock Forecasting: Use Excel and internal systems to forecast sales and stock requirementsTeam Leadership: Lead, motivate and support team members during busy, fast-moving and high-pressure trading periodsCustomer Service: Help ensure excellent customer service is delivered consistently across the storeCompliance and Safety: Maintain compliance with company procedures, health and safety and food safety standardsCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSPrevious experience in retail or convenience store managementStrong organisational and time management skillsConfident using Excel for forecasting and data analysisAble to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesFlexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and event daysBENEFITSA unique and exciting working environment at the NECOpportunity to work within a fast-growing, family-run businessA supportive team cultureCareer development opportunitiesCompany eventsEmployee discountFree parkingHealth & wellbeing programmeOn-site parkingStore discountHOW TO APPLYTo be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
