Join an organisation committed to the success of one of the Countrys fastest-growing boroughs and the people who make it thrive.About the roleThis is an important and highly visible front-line role representing the Council on a daily basis to all Borough users and residents whilst ensuring that the highest standards of waste and recycling collections are met at all times.Duties include ensuring all waste streams, including Trade Waste, are collected and disposed of in line with service objectives.You will also be doing street sweeping operations as needed.About youYoull need a Valid Category-C large goods vehicle licence (suitable to drive waste collection vehicles up to 32 tonnes) and hold a Driver CPC qualification, valid DCQ card and tachograph card and be able to pass a drivers medical examination.Youll need an understanding of health and safety legislation (Including manual handling) and Road Traffic Regulations, alongside the ability to read electronic (in-cab system) and paper-based maps and follow existing planned routes.The ability to be able to push wheeled bins and lift container / bulky waste items of household waste and be able to work alone with minimal supervision and as part of a team is also required.Youll also need to be flexible with working additional hours as required and the ability to work Bank Holidays and additional statutory days.Benefits35 days leave (including 8 Bank Holidays and 3 extra days normally applied at Christmas)Generous Local Government Pension SchemeAnnual leave purchase schemeStructured Induction ProgramLearning and Development opportunities including Future Leaders programmesPayment of a professional subscription for approved professionalsFamily Friendly PoliciesIndependent Support for your health & wellbeingGenerous compassionate leaveExtra Benefits including Retail Discounts, Cycle to Work scheme and moreTPBN1_UKTJ
