Field Support Engineer

Your new companyA market-leading manufacturer of specialist commercial equipment is seeking a Field Support Engineer to join its growing after-sales team. The business has a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service, supplying equipment and technical solutions to customers across a variety of sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.Your new roleAs a Field Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of specialist electro-mechanical equipment across the North of the UK (Manchester upwards).Key responsibilities include:Diagnosing and repairing electrical, electronic and hydraulic faultsCarrying out planned maintenance and reactive breakdown supportProviding equipment training and technical guidance to customersProducing detailed service reports and maintaining technical documentationSupporting product testing and continuous improvement initiativesIdentifying customer requirements and opportunities for service improvementsProviding technical support to customers and internal teamsManaging daily routes and workloads efficientlyEnsuring all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety regulationsWhat you'll need to succeedEngineering qualificationExperience servicing and repairing electro-mechanical equipmentKnowledge of electronics and hydraulic systemsExperience working with pressure boiler systemsStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage your own workloadFull UK Driving LicenceWillingness to travel extensively and stay away overnight when requiredDesirable:Experience working within field service, after-sales support or technical service environmentsWhat you'll get in returnSalary from £35,000Performance-related bonus schemeCompany vehicle (plus company card for fuel expenses)What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
