Waste Management Driver

Join a dedicated team making a real difference to your local community through essential waste management services.Contract to start ASAPDuration: 8 weeks with a possible extension.Job PurposeTo lead and supervise a waste collection crew in the safe, efficient and timely delivery of refuse, recycling and waste management services across the borough.The post holder will be responsible for driving allocated waste collection vehicles, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and providing day-to-day support and leadership to crew members.ResponsibilitiesDrive and operate refuse collection vehicles and other allocated fleet vehicles in accordance with all road traffic legislation, council procedures and health and safety requirementsLead and supervise a team of waste operatives during daily collection roundsEnsure domestic, commercial, recycling and bulky waste collections are completed efficiently and on scheduleCarry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects, faults or maintenance issues promptlyEnsure that all vehicle checks, route documentation and collection records are completed accuratelyMonitor crew attendance, performance and conduct while promoting high standards of customer serviceEnsure all waste is handled, collected and disposed of in line with environmental regulations and council policiesAssist with route planning and ensure that collection rounds are completed within agreed timeframesValid HGV driving licenceDisclaimer On applying for this vacancy, you agree that your personal details will be passed onto our client for their consideration of your suitability for the role.
