Export Manager

Our client, a well-established and growing global manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Export Manager to oversee and optimise international shipping and compliance processes.Operating in a highly regulated, export-controlled environment, this role is critical in ensuring the efficient, compliant movement of goods across international markets while supporting continued global growth.Key Responsibilities:Export OperationsManage end-to-end export processes across multiple international marketsEnsure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders in line with delivery requirementsOversee shipping activities across air, sea, and road freightCompliance & RegulatoryEnsure adherence to all relevant export regulations, customs legislation, and international trade requirementsManage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and export declarationsOversee export licensing and maintain accurate compliance recordsConduct sanctions screening and ensure compliance with restricted party regulations where requiredLogistics & Freight ManagementManage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providersMonitor and optimise transport costs, lead times, and service levelsResolve shipping, customs, and clearance issues to minimise delaysInternal CollaborationWork closely with production, planning, procurement, and customer-facing teams to align export activity with business needsProvide guidance and support on export requirements across the organisationSupport customer expectations in relation to international deliveryProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve export processes, compliance, and efficiencySupport the use and development of ERP/MRP systems for tracking export activityStay up to date with changes in export legislation and implement updates where requiredTeam Leadership (if applicable)Lead, mentor, and develop export or logistics team membersPromote best practice in export compliance and operational performanceSkills & ExperienceProven experience in an export, logistics, or international trade role within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of: Export compliance and customs proceduresInternational shipping documentationIncoterms and commodity codesExperience managing freight forwarders and international logistics providersStrong organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systemsQualificationsRelevant experience within export, logistics, or international trade is essentialProfessional certifications in export compliance or supply chain (desirable)Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidatesTPBN1_UKTJ
