The business makes precision components for industrial customers, with a strong focus on quality and on-time delivery. The planning team sits at the centre of production, working directly with the shop floor to keep jobs moving and customer commitments met. The business is also partway through moving to Microsoft Business Central, making this a particularly good time to join.The roleYou will join a small planning team monitoring incoming sales demand and making sure the right stock is in the right place. Around 40% of your time is on the shop floor, progress-chasing batch cards and working with the production team. The rest is desk-based planning, scheduling, and system work. You'll be central to keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.You'll:Monitor sales demand from HEPCO Motion and plan production to fulfil itTrack stock through assembly stores and earlier production stages, identifying gapsProduce route cards, works orders, and requisitions for manufactureEstimate machining and manufacturing times for each production operationLiaise with the shop floor, customer services, and sales departments dailyArrange sub-contract engineering services where requiredSupport the transition to Microsoft Business Central and contribute to ERP improvementsWhat you'll bringEssential:Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role (2–4 years)Background in a manufacturing or engineering environmentStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience using an MRP or ERP systemConfident communicator, at ease with both office and shop floor teamsUseful, not essential:Experience with Microsoft Business CentralBackground in engineering planning or precision componentsWorking arrangementsLocation: Braintree, Essex | Full-time, office-basedContract: Permanent | Full-time | 39 hours per weekHours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm | Friday 7:30am–3:00pmReady to apply?Click to apply with an up-to-date CV.
