\nJob Summary:\n
\n
\nThe Instructor is responsible for delivering established curriculum to students in a professional and proficient manner. This position also assigns and grades assignments, inputs attendance records, and ensures an effective learning environment through classroom management.\n
\n
\nEssential Duties:\n
\n
\nPrepare for and instruct established and approved curriculum and lesson plans to students in a professional manner\n
\nReview and discuss syllabi requirements at the start of each term with students\n
\nAnswer all student questions as they arise to ensure student understanding and completion of material\n
\nEnsure students are aware of safety policies and monitor for correct procedures\n
\nMaintain professionalism within the classroom and coach students on their professionalism\n
\nManage and resolve student issues in the classroom as necessary\n
\nManage all classroom activity including lecturing, student assistance, and lab instruction\n
\nEnsure students are attending class and arriving on time, and resolve attendance issues as needed\n
\nRecord student attendance, grades, and all student interactions in student files and on database in a timely manner\n
\nCollect all outside work from 25% of the students in a class to meet ACCSC requirements\n
\nAttend weekly and annual trainings to maintain currency in the field and continual improvement of personal teaching strategies\n
\nWork closely with the Program Supervisor to manage student issues that could potentially lead to low retention rates\n
\nAdvise students on issues affecting their education and provide guidance as needed\n
\nSetup lab area for daily instructional activities including equipment setup\n
\nRecognize need for and initiate student support plans, warning, and tutoring as needed\n
\nAssist in the maintenance of quality equipment and tools for program use\n
\nEnsure safety of clients and students on salon floor and resolve issues and/or report them to program supervisor as needed\n
\n
\nSecondary Duties:\n
\n
\nMaintain industry-specific community relations in order to secure guest speakers and assist students in gaining employment\n
\nOther duties as assigned\n
\n
\nWorking Hours\n
\n
\nMonday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 10:30 AM – 7:00\n
\n
\nMinimum Qualifications:\n
\n
\nEducation: Successful completion of an educational Cosmetology or related program\n
\n
\nExperience: 3+ years (minimum 4,000 hours) of experience in Cosmetology or related field\n
\n
\nLicense(s)/Certification(s): Active Cosmetology-related license within the field(s) the position is required to teach\n
