Job Summary
We are seeking a Composite Technician for a hands-on aerospace manufacturing opportunity in Poway, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with experience working with composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, honeycomb, and structural adhesives.
As a Composite Technician, you will support the fabrication, assembly, bonding, trimming, drilling, sanding, and repair of advanced composite structures used in aerospace applications. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, and comfortable following blueprints, work instructions, and engineering specifications while maintaining high standards for accuracy and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, align, and mechanically fasten composite parts and subassemblies according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Perform bonding, adhesive application, sealing, surface preparation, sanding, trimming, drilling, routing, and finishing of composite components.
- Cut and prepare composite materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, honeycomb, adhesives, and related materials using templates and work instructions.
- Set up and use fixtures, jigs, molds, forms, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to support accurate assembly.
- Perform in-process inspections, alignment checks, documentation updates, and quality verification before final inspection.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve production issues while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Poway, CA.
- Shift: 1st and 2nd shift availability provided.
