Veterinary Assistant

Doctors Office for Pets is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skill set across patient care, client service, surgery, and outpatient procedures. In this position, you will take an active role in:\n

• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
\n
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
\n
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
\n
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
\n

Schedule and compensation:\n

\n
• Compensation: $23-26 per hour, for each hour worked
\n
• This is a flexible full-time or part-time position with a 5/8 schedule. Availability is needed Monday through Friday, with the potential for Saturday shifts in the future.

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
\n
• Proficiency in the following skills:\n

  • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  \n
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
  \n
  • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
  \n
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  \n
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  \n
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
