Job Description
Vogel Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and provide dedicated support alongside our clinical team, with a strong focus on surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented candidates who thrive under pressure, anticipate team needs, and take pride in delivering exceptional patient care throughout the patient experience. In this position, you will take an active role in:\n

- Assisting veterinarians with surgical and dental procedures \n
- Monitoring patients throughout anesthesia and recovery \n
- Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography \n
- Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures \n
- Maintaining accurate surgical and treatment records \n
- Providing support for exams and outpatient procedures outside of surgical schedules \n

- Compensation: $15-$18 per hour, for each hour worked \n
- This is a full-time or part-time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday. Two Saturdays a month are required. \n

- 3+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred \n
- Proficiency in the following skills:\n

- Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments \n
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles \n
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures \n
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation \n
- Strong organizational and time management skills \n
- Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members \n
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic \n
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday \n
