Job Opportunity: Psychiatrist (Board Certified or Board Eligible)

Our organization is in search of a committed and empathetic Psychiatrist, either Board Certified or Board Eligible, to become a part of our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team on a per diem basis. This vital position involves the evaluation, diagnosis, and immediate treatment of individuals facing behavioral health crises.

The psychiatrist within the CPEP is a key member of a multidisciplinary team, dedicated to providing timely and effective interventions that promote patient stabilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations for individuals in crisis situations.
  • Create and execute personalized treatment plans, which include the management of psychotropic medications.
  • Work collaboratively with emergency department personnel, such as physicians, nurses, social workers, and security staff, to ensure coordinated and compassionate care.
  • Advise on and facilitate suitable dispositions, including inpatient admissions, outpatient referrals, or community support services.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an active medical license in New York State or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Excellent diagnostic and decision-making abilities in fast-paced, high-acuity settings.
  • Previous experience in emergency psychiatry or similar behavioral health environments is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly rate of $200, with additional compensation for evening and weekend shifts.
  • The stated salary represents the initial range of total compensation and does not encompass productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other potential cash compensations relevant to the role.
  • Providers typically receive a Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance along with other benefits provided by the medical group.
