Emory Workforce Solutions is seeking a Substation Foreman to lead crews on high-voltage substation construction projects. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role for someone who has actually built substations—not just worked around them.

You’ll be responsible for driving production, enforcing safety, and delivering high-quality installations across complex electrical infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage field crews (typically 5–20 electricians, operators, and laborers)
\n
• Oversee full-cycle substation construction, including: \n
  \n
  • Structural steel erection
  \n
  • Bus work and rigid/flexible conductor installation
  \n
  • Ground grid installation and testing
  \n
  • Equipment setting (transformers, breakers, switches)
  \n
  • Control house coordination and cable terminations
  \n
\n
• Read and execute plans, one-lines, and construction drawings
\n
• Coordinate daily with Project Managers, Engineers, and Inspectors
\n
• Plan work, assign tasks, and drive productivity to meet deadlines
\n
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and high-voltage safety standards
\n
• Conduct daily safety meetings (JHAs) and enforce site compliance
\n
• Track progress, materials, and manpower utilization
\n

What We’re Looking For

\n
• 5–10+ years of substation construction experience (REQUIRED)
\n
• Proven experience as a Foreman or Lead on substation projects
\n
• Strong knowledge of: \n
  \n
  • High-voltage systems (typically 12kV–500kV)
  \n
  • Substation layout, grounding, and protection systems
  \n
  • Electrical equipment installation and rigging
  \n
\n
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and one-line diagrams
\n
• Experience managing crews and hitting aggressive schedules
\n
• OSHA 10/30 (preferred)
\n
• NCCER or Journeyman Electrical License (preferred, not always required)
\n
• Willingness to travel (if applicable)
\n
