    Safety Advocate/Coordinator Position

    Our growing company is looking for a dedicated Safety Advocate/Coordinator. This position is available in Elkton, Virginia.

    \n

    Qualifications/ Education:
    \n Minimum OSHA 30-HR Construction
    \n Board of Certified Safety Professionals Safety Trained Supervisor-Construction (STS-C)
    \n Minimum three years of Environmental, Safety & Health experience
    \n Duties
    \n Below are required, but not limited to:
    \n • Willingness to travel.
    \n • Ability to work varying/wide-ranging hours.
    \n • Capable of entering confined spaces and working at heights.
    \n • Conducting toolbox talks and in-person Safety Training
    \n • Assigning annual EHS safety training through ISNetworld, abbottsfield, MASC, Tappisafe, 360 training and other various virtual platforms.
    \n • Recordkeeping and tracking training.
    \n • Effectively communicating with clients, employees, Medical/PLHCP, and supervisors
    \n • Perform jobsite and shop inspections.
    \n • Being competent in DOT vehicle requirements, tracking DOT physicals, assisting with ELD.
    \n • Certified operator and trainer of PIT, MEWP equipment safety and performing inspections.
    \n • Audit, collect, and upload safety documentation (e.g., permits, toolbox talks, JHA)
    \n • Audit EHS programs and assist in developing EHS plans, processes, and programs.
    \n • Competent in understanding task processes and how to mitigate hazards.
    \n • Recognizing IDLH hazards and utilizing Stop Work Authority.
    \n • Coaching employees of a proactive safety culture.
    \n • CPR/First Aid AED trained, willing and able to assist in the event of an emergency.
    \n • Develop Emergency Action Plans for each project.
    \n • Attending and executing EHS Meetings.
    \n • Continuously overseeing field activities and performing administrative duties.
    \n • Developing global EHS communications.
    \n • Performing evaluations for safety advocates I & II.
    \n Expected Office Responsibilities:
    \n Manage all required safety training for employees related to customers, OSHA &/or company.
    \n • This will include scheduling & performing the necessary training.
    \n • Ensure safety inspections are maintained on all company assets.
    \n • Attending weekly safety meetings for various customers (International Paper, ADM, etc.)
    \n • Familiarity with Microsoft Office & Excel
    \n • Perform necessary drug testing & properly file results in coordination with Office Manager
    \n • Develop and/or maintain database for employee’s safety certificates with names, dates of expiration, etc. (ISN, Tappi-safe, Abbotts field)
    \n • Maintain current employee’s safety certificates to ensure expiration does not occur for on-going jobs.
    \n • Pre-Plan the safety requirements for upcoming jobs in coordination with operations department(s).
    \n • Conduct orientation for new employees as needed.
    \n • Recognize areas of improvement & provide solutions to safety related issues.
    \n • Occasional administration duties may be required.
