Mechanical Journeymen (Millwright / Welder / Rigger / Ironworker / Boilermaker)

$30–$40/hr + $150 Per Diem (Eligible Travelers Only) | 50–70+ Hours | East Coast Travel

Byers Industrial Services is actively hiring experienced Mechanical Journeymen to support our growing Northeast and Southeast Divisions across the East Coast.

\n

This is a traveling, project-based role with strong potential for long-term placement for top performers.

\n

What You’ll Be Doing:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair industrial machinery and heavy equipment

  • \n
  • \n

    Perform precision alignment and equipment setting

  • \n
  • \n

    Rigging and moving heavy machinery and components

  • \n
  • \n

    Set, anchor, and level machinery

  • \n
  • \n

    Troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform repairs

  • \n
  • \n

    Assist with teardown, rebuilds, and reinstallation

  • \n
  • \n

    Conveyor systems and production line work

  • \n
  • \n

    Bolt-up, torqueing, and mechanical assembly

  • \n
  • \n

    Welding and basic fabrication (as needed)

  • \n

What We’re Looking For:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Journeyman-level experience in one or more trades:

    \n
      \n
    • \n

      Millwright

    • \n
    • \n

      Welder

    • \n
    • \n

      Rigger

    • \n
    • \n

      Ironworker

    • \n
    • \n

      Pipefitter

    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Multi-craft experience strongly preferred

  • \n
  • \n

    Proven experience with rigging, equipment setting, and alignment

  • \n
  • \n

    Welding and fabrication experience preferred

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong background in industrial environments

  • \n
  • \n

    Ability to read prints and work independently

  • \n
  • \n

    Must pass drug screen

  • \n
  • \n

    OSHA 10 (within 3 years) or OSHA 30 (within 5 years) REQUIRED

  • \n
  • \n

    Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

  • \n

Pay & Benefits:

    $30–$40/hour (based on experience & skillset)

  • \n
  • \n

    $150/day per diem – PAID 7 DAYS (Eligible Travelers Only)

      Must meet distance requirements and work required hours to qualify

    50–70+ hours/week (varies by project)
