Position Overview

The role involves providing leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will apply the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education for both patients and their families. Additionally, you will carry out medically prescribed interventions.

Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, or you must be enrolled in a BSN or advanced degree program with the goal of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting in the RN position. Grandfathering is permitted between departments and Mission Health entities. Extensions or exemptions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as necessary. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt from this requirement.
  • License: A current license as a registered nurse from the North Carolina Board of Nursing is mandatory. An Enhanced Nurse License Compact (eNLC) license may be applicable; licensees should verify with the NCBON. The RN license must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
Working Conditions

This position is based in a full-service community hospital that serves Macon and surrounding counties. Our facility, located in Franklin, North Carolina, is recognized as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital, offering a range of inpatient services, including an intensive care unit and medical/surgical units. We have also been designated as an Acute Stroke Ready hospital by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Outpatient services include a full laboratory, digital mammography, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, rehabilitation therapy, as well as surgical and endoscopy services.
