Staff Orthopedic Surgeon

In the role of Staff Orthopedic Surgeon, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional orthopedic care to our Veteran patients. While research interests are welcomed, they are not mandatory. For qualified candidates, dedicated time for research may be available. Teaching is a vital aspect of our mission, and an academic appointment with our partner institutions may be offered.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Performing surgical procedures with expertise in various orthopedic areas, such as arthritis disorders, degenerative arthritis of the shoulder and knee, musculoskeletal injuries, and metastatic lesions. This includes knee, shoulder, hip, foot, and ankle injuries, as well as hand surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, total knee replacement, total hip replacement, and other general orthopedic surgeries.
• Supervising and teaching surgical residents.
• Providing consultations in both outpatient clinic settings and inpatient wards.
• Participating in Medical Center committees.
• Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Surgery or Chief of Staff.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with on-call coverage for weeknights and weekends shared among the team, managed via phone with on-site rounds as necessary.

Qualifications: Candidates must be: 1) a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien, 2) trained in Orthopedic Surgery, and 3) possess a full, unrestricted medical license in any state. Preferred qualifications include Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
