Role OverviewThe Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing both routine and complex laboratory tests in areas such as toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment. Key ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will:
- Conduct chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic tests across various laboratory sections.
- Ensure accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and other specified areas.
- Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment using approved testing methods, and performing routine maintenance while monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or a related field, or be “Grandfathered” as a medical technologist under CLIA 88.
- Certification as MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP), or relevant certifications such as BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), I(ASCP), H(ASCP), or M(ASCP), or be registry/certification eligible.
- Registry/certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Preferred experience in the field.
