Job Description
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group has a full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join a well-established multi-specialty group practice located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The selected candidate will join nine other physicians and one advanced practice professional (APP) in a group practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of adult infections. Many of our providers have extensive expertise in areas such as HIV, hepatitis, wound care, global health, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, hospital epidemiology, bone/joint infections, clinical research, and hospital leadership. We have a robust pharmacy department and a dedicated ID/antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist.

This is predominantly an inpatient opportunity with some ambulatory practice, typically one-half day clinic per week. The clinic includes dedicated medical assistants and an HIV/ID nurse. There may be some rounding assistance during the week with an APP. The weekday (and holiday) call is shared equally among the group. Weekend call is shared equally amongst the physicians in the group, with weekend rounding assistance provided by an ID fellow and/or an APP.

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is a 560-bed teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center, serving a large region of southeast Michigan and recognized as a Top 100 Hospital by Fortune/IBM Watson. It also houses a long-term acute care hospital. We also provide in-person and telemedicine coverage for Trinity Health Brighton, a 56-bed hospital opened in April 2026.

This practice offers the opportunity to participate in academic and research activities including the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. The fellowship program has 2 fellows. There are regular educational opportunities available with ID Grand Rounds, noon didactic conferences, and microbiology plate rounds. Our fellows regularly publish with our faculty, and we have providers with extensive nationally recognized research publications and leadership experience. Our group has excellent representation on hospital committees and medical staff leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease; certification must be achieved within the timeframe defined by the applicable specialty board \n
- Active Michigan medical license or ability to obtain prior to start \n

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
\nA typical day may include:
\n- \n
- Providing direct inpatient infectious disease consultation across medical and surgical services \n
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including infection prevention, pharmacy, nursing, and surgical specialties \n
- Teaching and mentoring Infectious Diseases fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students \n
- Documenting in Epic EMR \n
- Engaging in quality improvement and patient safety efforts \n
