Low Voltage Technician

Role: Low Voltage Technician

Location: Brownsville, Tx

Employment Type: 13 weeks (potential for extension or conversion)

Compensation: Local applicants are preferred, daily per diem available for those traveling in

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am - 4:30pm

Hours: 50 hours/week

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Ideal candidate has experience on commercial or industrial low-voltage projects installing structured cabling for communications and AV systems. They should be comfortable pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, and coax cable with minimal supervision. Experience supporting conference rooms, digital signage, security, or enterprise AV systems is highly preferred.

• Pull, terminate, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling
\n
• Install structured cabling for conference rooms, digital signage, and enterprise AV systems
\n
• Install cable trays, J-hooks, D-rings, and cable pathways
\n
• Build out MDFs, IDFs, and telecommunications rooms
\n
• Install and troubleshoot audio/video equipment
\n
• Perform continuity and cable certification testing
\n
• Read and interpret construction drawings and wiring diagrams
\n
• Document completed installations
\n
• Troubleshoot low-voltage cabling issues
\n
• Maintain organized and professional installations
\n

Requirements:

\n
• 4+ years of low-voltage installation experience
\n
• Strong Cat5e/Cat6 termination experience
\n
• Experience pulling and terminating coaxial cable
\n
• Fiber optic installation experience
\n
• Ability to read construction drawings
\n
• Experience using cable testing equipment
\n
• Comfortable working independently
\n
• Basic hand and power tool proficiency
