Our client is looking for a commercially minded analyst who is genuinely passionate about data - someone who sees insight as a tool for making better business decisions, not just producing charts for a weekly report. You'll be embedded in a Projects team that delivers complex, bespoke, multi-million-pound solutions to international clients. You'll own the data and analytics function for that team - building dashboards, interrogating cost data and helping project managers and commercial leads make smarter decisions throughout the project lifecycle. Longer term, there is a clear path into broader business systems work across finance, HR and operations - making this an exceptional opportunity for someone with ambition to grow.What you'll do Design and maintain SQL-based data pipelines and Power BI dashboards giving real-time visibility of project costs, budgets and performanceAnalyse project cost data to identify risks, trends and savings opportunities presenting findings in a way that drives actionWork closely with project managers and commercial leads to understand their data needs and deliver solutions they'll useChampion the use of AI tools to automate analysis, improve data quality and streamline reporting workflowsIdentify gaps in data capture and business process, and work with stakeholders to resolve them at sourceDocument data models and definitions to ensure consistent, trustworthy insight across the organisationSkills & experience Essential: Strong SQL queries, joins, stored proceduresPower BI report design, DAX, data modellingGenuine passion for data and its commercial valueClear communicator with non-technical stakeholdersAnalytical, cost-conscious mindsetSelf-starter who thrives with autonomyHighly desirable: Practical experience with AI tools in a business contextSystems or business analysis experienceWorking arrangements This is a hybrid role based in Aberdeen.
