Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit an Operations Manager to work at an Energy from Waste plant in Worcestershire.The Operations Manager role comes with competitive starting salary, car allowance and full benefits package.If you are an experienced manager and have a background in operations within a heavy industrial site, submit your CV today to apply for this exciting opportunity.Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Manager roleReporting to the Plant Manager you will:Overall responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the plantThe day to day management of 20 + operations staff including shift teams and operations day staffEnsuring the facility operates and complies within environmental regulations at all timesLiaising with the Maintenance Manager and other relevant personnel regarding projects maintenance, outages, and programming of plant improvementsOverseeing 3rd party contractorsPreparing the annual budget for the operations department for review and work within this budgetLiaising with company directors and managers as well as external stakeholdersDeputising for the Plant Manager when requiredProfessional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:Ideally qualified with a degree in a relevant engineering fieldApprentice trained in an Engineering disciplineRelevant qualification in Health & Safety such as an IOSH / NEBOSHAt least five years operational / engineering management experience on a large process plant, ideally Power Generation - Candidates from other sources of Power, Utilities, Refineries, Petrochemical, COMAH etc will also be consideredAt least five years in a senior position with supervisory experience as well as budget / commercial experience (forecasting, P/L, contract management).Personal SkillsThe Operations Manager role would suit someone who is:Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, set clear direction, and deliver resultsExcellent negotiating and influencing skills, able to build relationships and achieve positive outcomes with stakeholdersStrong commercial acumen, with a clear understanding of business drivers and the ability to make sound, profit-focused decisionsSalary and benefits of the Operations Manager roleCompetitive starting salaryBenefits package with car allowance and private medical insuranceOpportunity to work at a leading Energy from Waste site(#LI-RW1) INDPOWAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
