The successful candidate will ideally be based around Greater Manchester and must be comfortable travelling regularly to sites in Wigan, Scunthorpe and Epping.Responsibilities for Health & Safety ManagerAs Health & Safety Manager, you will develop and improve health and safety systems while embedding a proactive safety culture across the division. You will work closely with operational teams, managers and shop-floor employees to improve standards, manage risk and ensure compliance.Develop and continuously improve Health & Safety Management SystemsConduct site audits, inspections, risk assessments and performance reviewsLead investigations into accidents, injuries and significant near missesProvide practical guidance on machine safety, guarding and LOTO/LOTOTODevelop safe systems of work, corrective actions and improvement plansDeliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety awareness trainingCoach managers and employees to improve working practices and accountabilityMonitor performance and report progress to senior managementRequirements for Health & Safety ManagerThe ideal candidate will have proven health and safety experience within manufacturing, engineering, packaging, FMCG or another machinery-based environment. You should be practical, confident working independently and comfortable engaging directly with shop-floor teams across multiple sites.NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 qualificationHealth and safety experience within a manufacturing or engineering environmentPractical knowledge of machine safety, guarding and LOTO/LOTOTO proceduresExperience developing Health & Safety Management SystemsExperience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigationsStrong understanding of UK health and safety legislationConfident communication, training and stakeholder-management skillsFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sitesDesirable Experience for Health & Safety ManagerNEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 or equivalent advanced qualificationTechnical IOSH membership or working towards membershipPrevious responsibility for multiple manufacturing sitesExperience leading safety-culture improvement programmesBackground within packaging, paper, converting or process manufacturingTPBN1_UKTJ
