Air Import Operator

Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Air Import Operator on behalf of a well-established, specialist freight forwarding company based near Heathrow Airport.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy import operations team, managing international airfreight shipments from start to finish for a diverse portfolio of customers. Working within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring shipments are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with customs and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within Air Imports and will be confident managing the complete import process, from receiving pre-alerts through to customs clearance and final delivery.

• Manage international air import shipments from start to finish.
\n
• Complete import customs clearances accurately and in accordance with HMRC regulations.
\n
• Prepare and process MAWBs and HAWBs.
\n
• Book and process pre-alerts received from overseas agents.
\n
• Liaise with customers to obtain customs clearance instructions and delivery requirements.
\n
• Coordinate with overseas agents, airlines, transport providers and internal departments to ensure smooth shipment movement.
\n
• Ensure all import documentation is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
\n
• Provide regular shipment updates and deliver excellent customer service throughout the import process.
\n
• Maintain compliance with customs legislation, aviation security requirements and company procedures.
\n

• Previous experience working within Air Imports or Airfreight Operations.
\n
• Experience managing air import consignments from start to finish.
\n
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures.
\n
• Experience preparing and processing MAWBs and HAWBs.
\n
• Good understanding of Air Freight and Road Freight operations.
\n
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
\n
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple shipments.
\n
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
\n
• Ability to successfully complete a 5-year checkable employment history and DBS check.
\n

• Salary between £32,000 - £38,000, depending on experience.
\n
• Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00.
\n
• Permanent, full-time position based in Feltham (Heathrow).
\n
