Are you a commercially minded Finance Manager looking for a role where you can genuinely influence business performance?
\nA successful and growing engineering group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function across multiple businesses. Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you'll become a key member of the senior leadership team, providing the financial insight, governance and strategic support needed to drive continued growth.
\nThis is far more than a traditional reporting role. You'll have the opportunity to shape financial strategy, improve business performance, influence decision-making and drive process improvements across the organisation.
The Opportunity\nAs Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the finance function while acting as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders across the group.
\nYou'll be responsible for:

- Leading and managing the day-to-day finance function \n
- Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports \n
- Managing cash flow, treasury and banking activities \n
- Overseeing payroll, VAT, PAYE, CIS and statutory compliance \n
- Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning \n
- Developing meaningful KPIs and management reporting \n
- Delivering commercial analysis and business insight \n
- Supporting operational and project performance through robust financial information \n
- Driving continuous improvement across finance processes and systems \n
- Managing and developing an Accounts Assistant \n
- Partnering with senior leaders to support strategic decision-making \n
We're looking for an ambitious finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and a proactive mindset.
\nYou'll ideally have:
\n- \n
- Previous experience managing a finance function \n
- AAT qualification, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or be qualified by experience \n
- Strong experience producing management accounts \n
- Sound knowledge of payroll, VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance \n
- Experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting systems \n
- Advanced Excel skills \n
- Excellent analytical and organisational abilities \n
- Confidence working closely with senior stakeholders \n
- A track record of improving systems, processes and reporting \n
Experience within engineering, manufacturing or a project-based environment would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
